Meruheal was born from a simple but powerful observation: India has some of the world's finest medical minds — and most of the world doesn't know how to reach them. Patients in the UK wait years on NHS lists. Families in Africa and the Middle East pay fortunes for care that India delivers at a fraction of the cost, with equivalent or better outcomes. The gap wasn't clinical. It was coordination.

That realisation came naturally to Prateek Sachan, Meruheal's founder. Growing up with a family deeply rooted in medicine — with several close relatives who are practising doctors — Prateek saw first-hand the quality of care India's hospitals could deliver. He also saw how rarely that quality reached patients who needed it most, particularly those navigating the system from abroad without a trusted guide.

"I'd watch family members advise relatives overseas — fielding calls, reviewing reports, translating discharge summaries into plain language," Prateek recalls. "That informal network was invaluable. I wanted to build something that gave every international patient access to exactly that kind of insider guidance — structured, professional, and genuinely caring."

Prateek's conviction runs deeper than business. A committed fitness and health enthusiast, he approaches wellbeing the way he approaches everything: with rigour, consistency, and a long-term view.
